For indicative freight prices, see page 69. www.croplands.com.au Nozzles for Twin Angle Spraying Spraying at angles is recommended for fungicide, insecticide and foliar nutrient applications in post-emergent and horticultural situations. Traditional flat fan nozzles face downward. During application the force from the driving speed deflects the downward moving droplet forward. The coverage of the back side of target plants is compromised, especially with erected plants, eg cereals and onions. There are a number of flat fan nozzles with a twin angled spray pattern to overcome this problem. Their backwards orientated fan is able to cover the back of the target more efficiently. The larger the droplets are the more pronounced this twin coverage effect will be. Smaller droplets have little to no momentum, their direction is mainly governed by wind therefore it is wise to chose medium to coarse output nozzles to get superior coveage. The TD Dual Angle with a 50°/10° angle improves coverage most robust at speeds below 16 km/h. Other twin fan nozzles with a 30°/30° angle set-up operate best up to 12 km/h. The TD-TWIN twin body set-up is the most versatile approach since it allows the combination of any sized AirMix and XR nozzle, producing only COARSE or COARSE and FINE. Spraying at Angles Nozzles – Vegetable Spraying Most vegetable crops are difficult to spray. Consider the TDTWIN twin-cap body for this purpose. Recent trials have suggested that with a standard non-air assisted boom, twin nozzles that produce two angled fans achieve better penetration into the canopy. (See page 46 for pricing of the TDTWIN cap or below for the TDTWIN/AirMix Combo.) The TD Twin cap is the most versatile twin body on the market. It allows you to use any combination of AirMix and XR nozzles. You can use nozzles that produce the same spray quality or have a FINE/COARSE combination to get the best out of both droplet sizes.
